The Best Oahu Itinerary: Spending 3, 5, or 7 Days on Oahu [2024]
SEARCHING FOR THE PERFECT OAHU ITINERARY?
You’ve landed on the right page! We’ve been traveling together since 2010 and one of our favorite places to escape the cold Idaho winters and enjoy the beach is the island of Oahu. There are so many fun things to do, whether you’re looking for an action-packed vacation or you’re just looking to relax at the beach. No matter what your style for your Oahu itinerary, we’ve got you covered with the best activities, beaches, and tours.
Oahu City Pass: A Great Money-Saving Option
We love the city passes. They are a great way to save money and experience a wide variety of attractions during your Oahu itinerary. We used the Oahu City Pass on our first visit to Oahu and had a great experience using it.
The Go City Oahu All-Inclusive Pass includes over 40 attractions and tours. If you want to save money and visit attractions like Pearl Harbor, The Polynesian Cultural Center, and snorkeling, you should look into getting the Go City Oahu Pass.
You can choose how many days you will need the pass. You can choose from 1 to 7 days. The longer time you have the pass, the more the pass costs. If your pass is 3 days or longer, you get a premium attraction, including a traditional Hawaiian Luau.
When using the City Pass, it is very important that you reserve your spot at the attractions as early as you can. Just because you have the city pass does not guarantee you a spot on the attractions you want to visit. Some of the attractions included in the City Pass have limited space and will fill up.
Schedule your visits to the attractions, and then the City Pass will get you in. Don’t forget to schedule ahead. If you are looking at a 7-day Oahu itinerary or a 4-day itinerary for Oahu, the City Pass could save you money.
When we travel, we like to maximize our time. We do this by making itineraries that backtrack as little as possible and couple of locations that are close together. If you want to maximize the things you can see during your Oahu itinerary, these itineraries are going to be excellent for getting your trip planned.

Things to Do in Your Oahu Itinerary
Pearl Harbor
Pearl Harbor is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Hawaii and a must-see in any Oahu itinerary. Every year, millions of people come to Honolulu to tour the Pearl Harbor Memorial and pay their respects to the brave men and women who lost their lives during the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941.
The Pearl Harbor Visitor Center is open daily from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, and it is here where you will watch a short film about the events of December 7th. The film is shown every half hour, and it provides valuable context for understanding what happened during the attack.
What to Expect at Pearl Harbor
After watching the film, you will have some free time to explore the Visitor Center exhibits. These exhibits feature artifacts from the attack, as well as personal stories from survivors and their families. Be sure to allow yourself at least an hour to explore the Visitor Center before moving on to the next stop on your tour.
The next stop is the USS Arizona Memorial. The memorial is located in the middle of Pearl Harbor, and it serves as a gravesite for many of the soldiers who lost their lives during the attack. To get to the memorial, you will take a short boat ride across the harbor. Once you arrive at the memorial, you will have some time to explore on your own before taking the boat back to shore.
After touring the USS Arizona Memorial, you can either explore more of Pearl Harbor on your own or head back into town. If you choose to explore more of Pearl Harbor, we recommend visiting the USS Missouri Battleship Memorial and/or the Pacific Aviation Museum.
The Pearl Harbor: USS Arizona Memorial & USS Missouri Battleship Tour from Waikiki will take you to see all of Pear Harbor with easy transportation. This small group tour will make your visit to Pear Harbor an informative and exciting experience.
Visiting Pearl Harbor was one of our favorite parts of our Oahu itinerary.

Amazing experience – Heather_B, Sep 2022
Captain Nate and his crew were top notch!! Everyone was helpful and the experience was definitely the highlight of our time on Oahu. My daughter had not snorkeled much outside of a pool, so we took it slow at first and practiced by the pad put down near the boat. After getting comfortable it was off to see turtles! We saw several of all sizes and even saw an octopus! Would highly recommend this tour especially to families. – Andrew

The best time to visit Hanauma Bay is early in the morning, so make sure you get an early start. The park opens at 6:00 am, and it gets very crowded later in the day. We recommend getting there as early as possible so you can avoid the crowds and enjoy the bay. If you get there late, you won’t find parking, and you will be turned away.
The Viator tour Hanauma Bay Snorkeling takes visitors on a guided tour of the bay, and you won’t get turned away because of the lack of parking. Participants have the opportunity to swim with tropical fish and explore the coral reefs. The tour includes transportation to and from Hanauma Bay, as well as snorkeling equipment.
