This trail is wheelchair accessible, but there are a few sections that may need assistance as they are a little steeper. You will find benches along the trail to rest, and this is a trail many people enjoy in the winter.
6. Stateline Fire Lookout
Length: 2.0 miles
Elevation Gain: 300 feet
Route Type: Loop
Difficulty: Easy
The Stateline Fire lookout trail is a fantastic short trail that offers beautiful views throughout the hike. The trail is along the Nevada and California border close to Crystal Bay. The hike is easy, and the views are worth it.
You will find a lookout tower near the peak of the trail where you can stop and take in all of the beauty that North Lake Tahoe has to offer. This is an amazing opportunity for visitors to North Lake Tahoe to get an up-close look at nature and enjoy some peacefulness.
7. Monkey Rock
Length: 2. 5 miles
Elevation Gain: 500 feet
Route Type: Out and Back
Difficulty: Moderate
The Monkey Rock hike is a great hike if you are looking for a challenging route but nothing too overbearing. We hiked this trail with our kids, and they had a great time. The trail is not overly long, but it does have some steep sections that make the trail a little more challenging.
Right before you get to the top of the trail where you will see Monkey Rock is where the trail is the steepest. Once you get to the top, you can enjoy the beautiful views. The top of the trail is a great spot to relax and take in the serene forest that surrounds Lake Tahoe.
8. Tunnel Creek Trail
Length: 5.0 miles
Elevation Gain: 1,500 feet
Route Type: Out and Back
Difficulty: Moderate
The Tunnel Creek Trail is a popular trail with some of the best panoramic views in the area. The trail is popular with those who are into bird watching, mountain biking, and hiking.
Lake Tahoe is a great place for those who want to hike with their dogs. The majority of the trails allow dogs, but they should be leased.
9. Tahoe Meadows South Trail
Length: 1.5 miles
Elevation Gain: 50 feet
Route Type: Loop

The Tahoe Meadows South Trail is a great meadow trail that has a combination between a boardwalk and a dirt trail. People also enjoy this trail in the winter months. In the winter, you can snowshoe along a beautiful meadow.
The trail is mostly flat and a great option for beginners or those looking for a laid-back trail with a little less traffic.
10. Tahoe Rim Trail

Elevation Gain: 4,000 feet
Route Type: Loop
Difficulty: Difficult
The Tahoe Rim Trail is a significant hiking trail that takes you completely around Lake Tahoe. If you are to attempt the entire trail, it would typically take around 13 or more days. It is an incredible way to experience the beauty of North Lake Tahoe. The trail passes through both Nevada and California, so you get some great views of both states.
There are six major access points around the lake, but be prepared as it can be extremely challenging, and you need to have all the right gear and supplies with you.
11. Dollar Creek Trail

Also, keep in mind when visiting Speedboat Beach, the beach has limited facilities and is not as close to some of the other amenities the larger beaches provide.
