Moab Giants is a great museum near Arches National Park that many families and their kids enjoy. There are indoor exhibits and outdoor exhibits that make this the perfect place any time of year.
During the hot summer months, you can cool down in the air-conditioned buildings after visiting the half-mile dinosaur trail and the dinosaur replicas. This is a great park to learn about prehistoric life in the area and what happened during prehistoric times.
We absolutely loved our visit to Moab Giants, and it ended up being one of our favorite things to do in Moab with kids.

Moab Giants Tickets
Ticket prices for Moab Giants dinosaur park start at $18 per person. You can purchase them online at Moabgiants.com, or you can purchase tickets at the ticket office when you arrive.
The interactive Moab dinosaur museum does have some additional ticket options for those who want to experience some of the different movie options the museum offers.
If you have a large family, they do offer a family pass option that can make the visit more economical.

Moab Giants Museum
The Moab Giants Museum has multiple different sections to explore. Each section is unique, making this a fun and eventful museum that everyone will enjoy. The indoor portion of the museum is a fun area where you can see how paleontologists clean and prepare dinosaur bones after they have been taken to the museum.
The museum’s dinosaur exhibits are not overly large, but it does have some interesting exhibits where you can learn about dinosaurs and their environment, so it is worth a visit. This area is especially nice if it is hot outside (like in July and August, especially) because it is air conditioned.
The outdoor dinosaur trail is probably our favorite part of the Moab Giants in Utah and is the more unique area of the museum. The dinosaur trail is a little trail that winds through the desert and the campus of Moab Giants. Dinosaur Trail is also known as Paleo Safari at Moab Giants.
Along this trail are life-size figures of dinosaurs that roamed the earth and the Moab area. It is super cool to stand next to the life size tyrannosaurus rex and many more dinosaurs ranging from small to really large.
As you walk the trail, there are also signs that tell you about each dinosaur and where it lived, its size, and other fun facts about them. This trail is relatively flat, and a stroller or wheelchair could traverse the trail; however, bring water on your visit, especially while walking this trail.
We went in October, and at only 70 degrees Fahrenheit, we were all very thirsty. The dry desert heat makes everyone need more water.
Moab Giants Aquarium/Paleoaquarium
The Moab Giants Aquarium is a 5D experience and a virtual aquarium that will take you through the deep ocean to see the different dinosaurs in the ocean. This is a virtual walking tour, and you will be able to explore friendly sea turtles, ancient sea creatures, and the underwater prehistoric world, including the dreaded Megladon.
This is a great experience for dinosaur enthusiasts or those who are fans of dinosaurs that roamed the deep ocean. Don’t confuse this with the 3D movie experience because they are two different attractions but both fun virtual activities.
Paleo camp
The Paleocamp is a fun interactive paleontologist experience. You will get to explore and learn how paleontologists first discovered the dinosaurs in the Moab area.
You will get to learn about the tools they used and how they camped in order to make the discoveries that lead to the making of the Moab Giants Park in Utah.
If you are interested in the Paleo camp or want to learn more, it is best to call the Moab Giants ticket office and inquire more about the activities and the costs.
3D Movie Theater
The 3D movie is different than the 5D experience. The 3D movie teaches viewers about the history of the earth, from the Big Bang Theory all the way to dinosaurs. This is an exciting way to view how the world and dinosaurs came to be.
If you want to watch the 3D movie, it is another 6 dollars. The Moab Giants does have some ticket programs that give you access to everything and cost less than purchasing the additional activities separately.
Moab Giants Cafe
Depending on the different activities and how fast or slow your family likes to send at each of the exhibits; you can spend a good amount of time exploring Moab Giants. All the walking around and exploring tends to make everyone hungry.
The restaurant is priced very well for all of its food. They have a lot of great kid options, along with great food for adults. The larger food options consist of hamburgers, salads, and sandwiches like pulled pork and club sandwiches. They also have a few wrap options and desserts.
If you want to save some money, bring your own drinks. A large 20oz soda costs $3.50, and other drinks like a lemonade or tea cost in the $6 range. You can also grab food after your visit at one of the nearby Moab restaurants.
Moab Giants Outdoor Play Area
Our kids love to play at parks, and the dino playground was no different. The Moab Giants Dinosaur Museum has a fun, but relatively small, outdoor play area with shade and picnic tables. This is at the end of the trail by the large T-rex statues.
This is a good area to stop and eat lunch if you brought your own.

The paleontologist tour of the current actual excavation of fossils was great information! The scientists were knowledgeable and were actually working on fossils! What a nice place for kids all all ages (including seniors!) – the paleo aquarium was a very fun experience, especially the end when the megalodon … well I won’t give it away, go see for yourself! made you laugh and scream at the same time, lol – the outdoors were so nice and well done with so many kinds of dinosaurs, nice thing is you know that are from that region, most of them. This is the third time we have visited this attraction and it should be a must for everyone. The exhibit hall is great. The trail around the park with the dino’s set out is a real treat. The aquarium is special as well as the film on the Big Bang. (TripAdvisor Review)
Dinosaur Track Sites to Visit in Moab
Moab has lots of different dinosaur fossil footprints you can explore. Many of them are free to visit and very close to the Moab Giants and the surrounding areas. Some of our favorites are the Mill Creek dinosaur track site and the Mill Creek dinosaur bone area.
Utah Raptor State Park has some fun tracks to explore and is close to the 4×4 entrance into Arches National Park. If you are going to be taking the 4×4 trail into Arches, then make sure to stop at this track site at the same time since you pass right by it.
Another fun stop is the Potash Road Dinosaur Tracks and Petroglyphs. This is a short trail that is easy to get to and is close to a 4×4 trail that we enjoy called the Poison Spider Mesa. While you are in the area, be sure to check out the hikes to Jeep Arch and Corona Arch.
Both the track site and the 4×4 trail are fun to explore. This road also continues on to the Shafer Trail and White Rim Road in Canyonlands National Park.
