Waking up to a camping breakfast will make your day of RVing start off on the right foot. I am a big sucker for a good breakfast, like a delicious breakfast casserole, and these recipes do not disappoint. Sometimes we even squeeze them in as a dessert, or we have breakfast for dinner.

We like to couple these family-favorite slow cooker recipes with yogurt or fresh fruit.

Camping Crockpot Meals – Soups

There are lots of different soup camping crockpot meals.

It is hard to beat a warm bowl of crockpot soup on a cold day in the RV. These are delicious but simple soup recipes that everyone in your family will love. Grab a loaf of French bread and butter to add to the soup.

Slow Cooker Meals – Pasta Recipes

Pasta makes for delicious camping crockpot meals

We are big pasta eaters and in the travel trailer, it is no different. Everyone in my family loves it, and it makes delicious leftovers. Pasta is a quick and easy camping slow cooker meal that will let you spend more time outside adventuring and not stuck in the kitchen. It is hard to go wrong with a good pasta dish.

Slow Cooker Pork Recipes

Pork is a yummy ingredient in our camping crockpot meals

Pork is such a versatile meat and is a great base for camping crockpot meals. We love to make the pulled pork sandwiches for lunch and the Café Rio Sweet Pork recipe can be used in rice bowls, tacos burritos, or on a salad.

If you buy a big enough piece of pork for the sweet pork recipe, you can spread it over two meals. We like to do tacos and the next day do a salad.

Camping Crockpot Meals with Beef

Chili is one of our favorite camping crockpot meals.

There are so many different cuts and ways to prepare beef. We love the Shepherds Pie with ground beef and with a little prep work before you leave to go camping, it is such an easy recipe. We use fake potatoes on top and brown the hamburger ahead of time.

Preparing food ahead of time makes preparing slow cooker camping recipes a breeze.

Slow Cooker Chicken Recipes

Whenever I’m not sure what to cook, I seem to revert back to camping crockpot meals with chicken. Everyone in my family loves skinless chicken breasts, and it is easy to cook in the crockpot. If you are cooking the Indian Butter Curry, be sure to bring a rice cooker or way to cook the rice. Also, adding some naan bread is a must in our house! It is a real winner.

The chicken Caesar wraps are a quick and easy delicious dinner to pack if you’re headed out and bringing food with you. We make the wraps beforehand and then wrap them in tinfoil to store in the cooler. This is one of our favorite on-the-go camping crockpot dinner meals.

Slow Cooker Seafood Recipes

When we are feeling really fancy we grab some seafood to cook in our motorhome. We usually end up with some sort of shrimp or salmon. These are yummy and easy crockpot recipes that will help you spend less time in the kitchen.

Slow Cooker Dessert Recipes

Desserts are an important part of camping crockpot meals

No night around the campfire is complete without s’mores and a delicious dessert. Our favorite desserts are vanilla ice cream paired with some sort of peach cobbler or apple crisp. They are so yummy and have minimal meal prep.

We try to use cake mixes rather than individual ingredients to simplify the recipe. If you are looking for your own trusty crockpot camping recipes look for ones that use cake mixes rather than all of the individual ingredients.

Crockpot Camping Side Dish Recipes

If you are cooking over the fire or on a grill and you’re looking for some sides to go with it, the crockpot is a great resource. There are quick and easy RV camping recipes that can cook while you explore and go nicely with some grilled meat.

Can You Use a Crockpot in an RV?

You can definitely use a crockpot in an RV. We consider a crockpot or Instapot to be one of our RV kitchen essentials. For the most part, crockpots are extremely safe and the risk of fire is low. If this does worry you, you can leave the crock-pot plugged in outside.

You will need to have power to run your crockpot. This will require you to either be plugged in or run a generator. Another great option is a portable power station. If you are making a recipe that takes a long time and you don’t have hookups, you will need to run your generator the entire time.

Camping crockpot meals work best when you have access to electrical hookups. It saves on the propane in your RV tanks.

There are so many yummy slow cooker recipes for camping so let the meal planning begin!

Helpful Tips for Camping Crockpot Meals

Use Slow Cooker Liners

We cook with our crockpot in our RV because the food prep is so quick, and it always turns out so yummy. We have found we save even more time with the cleanup with slow cooker liners. They are pretty cheap and make clean-up so easy. We just take the liner out and toss it in the garbage. No scrubbing or soaking the crockpot in the small RV kitchen sink.

Prep Ahead of Time

Think about what food prep you can do ahead of time. I brown hamburger and freeze it so I can just toss it in the crockpot when I am ready to use it. I avoid all the grease and camping dishes in our motorhome. Plus, it saves me a ton of time.

The fewer dishes and cooking you can do in the motorhome, the more time you will have to enjoy the beautiful outdoors and spend time with your family. I try to simplify everything as much as possible.

Get a Crockpot with a Timer and Secured Lid

Having a crockpot with a timer will make it easy to start cooking your food at the right time, even if you aren’t at the RV. We will prep our food in the morning before we head out for the day and then just set the timer for what time we want the food to start cooking. It is so nice to come home to a delicious meal after a fun day of adventuring.

Having a secure lid makes it easy to carry the crockpot outside to the picnic table for a meal without the worry of having it spill.

Tip: Another great way to cook food while you are camping is on camper grills! Using a camp stove keeps your kitchen clean and doesn’t heat your RV up like using the stove or the oven does, plus you don’t have to have an external power source!

Be sure to use filtered water from your RV water filter or use bottled water to prevent a bad taste.
