Located on the Riverwalk, the Aarchway Inn is an amazing option. The Riverwalk is a wide, nicely shaded path along the North Fork of the Virgin River, in Moab.
If you love nature walks and seeing wildlife, this may be the place for you. It is a 10-minute drive to the Arches National Park Visitor Center.
In addition to the Riverwalk, Aarchway Inn has an outdoor swimming pool and children’s pool, with sun loungers and pool umbrellas. If you’re looking to explore the Arches by Jeep tour, this is a great location. It’s also one of the closest Moab hotels to the access point for popular trails like Corona Arch, Jeep Arch, and Poison Spider Trail.
The SpringHill Suites also has one of the best pool areas you will find in all of Moab. They have multiple different pools, with some having cascading waterfalls that kids will love to play in. The pools, splash pad, and three hot tubs are a great addition to this luxurious property.

The Hyatt Place Moab, is located just north of downtown Moab in a picturesque setting of red rocks. This hotel is fairly new and is very nice and accommodating. It is also one of the closest hotels to the entrance of Arches National Park.
The pool area is awesome, with a large heated pool, hot tub, splash pad, and a small playground the kids enjoy climbing on. It offers many modern amenities, including air conditioning, premium bedding, laptop-friendly workspaces, free wi-fi facilities, and hair dryers.
The recreational opportunities include a fitness center and a playground. The hotel also offers a free buffet breakfast with many traditional and modern food options.
This pet-friendly hotel is one we recommend for not being too expensive and offering good value while only being a mile or so away from the downtown area. We love the added touches this hotel has to add to your stay – such as the outdoor fireplace by the pool and the snack bar. Hyatt Place Moab isn’t your cheapest option, but it’s an excellent family-friendly hotel in Moab.

The beautifully rustic Moab Springs Ranch is the perfect place to stay in Moab if you’re looking to unwind in your own private cabin.
Located close to your Moab adventures, this luxurious hotel provides lots of modern amenities to enjoy. The resort has a large private park that includes pools, ponds, and hammocks, all with some great shade. And to quench your appetite, this resort offers locally-roasted coffee and baked goods in their onsite coffee shop.
This is easily one of the prettiest hotels in downtown Moab. We loved all of the trees and gardens that surround the resort property, giving it the feel of being an oasis in the desert.
When staying at the Moab Springs Ranch, you will be surrounded by Moab’s red rock as well as beautiful cottonwood trees and a serene waterscape. The hotel is close to the Colorado River and has great access for those who want to bike in and out from the hotel into Moab’s trails.

Things to Do in Arches National Park and Nearby
Visit Sand Dune Arch
If you’re visiting Moab with kids or are looking for a quick and easy hike, Sand Dune arch is a must. It is a short walk from the parking area and a great place to let kids explore and play in the sand. This was one of my kids’ favorite stops in the park. Hike to Delicate Arch
Another great hike and one of the most popular Moab hiking trails is the trail to Delicate Arch. It is a more difficult hiking trail so keep that in mind. We made it with our seven-year-old twins and had a great time. There is some elevation gain, and no shade, so make sure to bring plenty of water.
Explore the 4×4 Trails
There are 4×4 trails in Arches as well as in nearby Canyonlands like the Shafer Trail and the White Rim Road. There are guided 4×4 tours in Arches as well as 4×4 tours in Canyonlands.
If you’re open to exploring the off-road trails outside of the national parks, there are lots of great options. If you don’t have your own 4×4 vehicle, we would highly recommend an off-road tour of Hell’s Revenge.

Visit Canyonlands National Park
Another really amazing national park to visit nearby is Canyonlands National Park. We spent two days exploring this beautiful area. On our first day, we took a jeep down the White Rim Road, which was one of our favorite things we did in Moab. If you don’t have a 4-wheel drive vehicle, you can either rent a jeep, or you can go on a guided tour.
During our second day in Canyonlands, we explored the Island in the Sky section of the park. We loved the hike to Mesa Arch. There are also lots of great different viewpoints and shorter hikes, perfect for spending a day in Canyonlands National Park.
What is the closest City to Arches National Park?
The closest city to Arches National Park is Moab, Utah. There are lots of things to do in Moab, and it has easy access to the park, so it’s generally where most people stay.
Can you stay in Arches National Park?
You can, if you want to camp! There is one campsite in Arches National Park. The Devils Garden Campground is a beautiful place to camp, just down the road from Delicate Arch and the Devils Garden hiking area.
You can reserve the 51 campsites between March 1 and October 31. This campground is very busy and is filled at capacity almost every night, so a reservation well in advance is required. Reservations are available 6 months in advance.
From November through February, it is first come, first served. If you can’t find a place to camp in the park, there is lots of dispersed camping near Moab.

Typically people visiting Arches will stay in Moab, Utah. The border of Moab is only about five minutes from the entrance station to Arches. If you are staying downtown, you will have a 10-15 minute drive.

The only accommodations inside Arches National Park are at a campground. There are 51 sites available with limited amenities. There are not any hotels or cabins in the park. The campground is called the Devil’s Garden Campground.

We would recommend spending two days exploring Arches National Park. However, if you plan to explore nearby Canyonlands National Park and the Moab area, you could easily spend at least five days in the area.

Spring and fall are the best time of year to go to Arches National Park. This is when the weather is the best, and you will have the nicest outdoor temperatures for hiking and exploring the park.
You can visit in July and August, but you would want to do the majority of your hiking in the early morning before it gets hot outside.
