When looking for RV parks close to Yellowstone National Park you will want to determine what entrance you will be using, the types of amenities you are looking for, how much you want to pay, and how close to the Yellowstone entrance you want to be.
West Yellowstone has many RV park options to stay at during an RV trip to Yellowstone National Park, and we typically stay in this location if we are not staying inside Yellowstone National Park.
West Yellowstone is not the only place you can stay. There are RV parks close to the other entrances of the park. Where you stay will depend on what you are looking for and possibly which direction you are coming from. The majority of the RV parks with hookups of any kind are not inside the park. For most campgrounds in the park, you will need to be self-contained.
Some campgrounds might have cold water and toilets available, and most campgrounds will not have shore power. Having good batteries for an RV will make it easier to not have full hookups.

1. Yellowstone Valley Inn and RV Park
Yellowstone Valley Inn and RV Park is a nice RV park. They have lots of amenities that you will not find at many of the other RV parks near Yellowstone National Park with full hookups. This park has a restaurant, saloon, heated pool, hot tub, Mercantile, fitness center, banquet hall, and laundry.
All these amenities make for a really nice time. The only downside about this park is that it is 40 miles from the east entrance of Yellowstone Park.
2. Fishing Bridge RV Park
Fishing Bridge RV Park is one of the few Yellowstone RV parks that are inside the park and has full hookups, and it sits on the bank of Yellowstone Lake. This park has been newly renovated and has sites that range up to 95 feet in length.
No open flames are allowed in this RV park in Yellowstone, and each site has a picnic table. This is a perfect campground to relax at after exploring Yellowstone and cooking dinner on your camping grill.
Fishing Bridge RV Park is a Yellowstone-operated recreational vehicle park that is close to the NPS Amphitheater, where many ranger programs are offered. It is also good to note that this Yellowstone RV Park is the only RV park operated by the National Park Service that provides hot water. It, therefore, has coin laundry and pay showers.
If you are looking for RV parks in Yellowstone National Park with full hookups, this is going to be the best RV park option. There is a dump station here if you need it (don’t forget your dump gloves).
3. Green Creek Inn and RV Park
Green Creek Inn and RV Park is an RV park that is 28 miles away from the East entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It is an economical option, and they do allow pets with no extra fee, but you must keep your pet on a leash.
They have laundry facilities, free WI-FI, and a place to take showers. This RV park has all your necessities but not much for frills. You are also close to Cody, Wyoming, which is 22 miles away.

4. Fireside Buffalo Valley RV Park
The Fireside Buffalo Valley RV Park is a centrally located RV park because it is close to a lot of great outdoor activities and national parks. This RV Park is 33 miles south of the South Yellowstone National Park Entrance and five miles east of the Moran entrance to Grand Teton National Park.
There are many nearby lakes, and it is 36 miles from Jackson, Wyoming. If you are looking for a central location South of Yellowstone but with other nearby adventures like horseback riding, this would be a great RV park.
They have all the necessities, plus a gas station, liquor store, and full-service bar.
5. Headwaters Campground and RV Park
If you are looking to unplug, Headwaters Campground and RV Park is for you. This RV park does not have cell service, and it does not have Wi-Fi available. It is between Grand Teton National Park and Yellowstone National Park. It is exactly 2 miles from the Yellowstone Park South entrance and 4 miles from the Grand Teton National Park.
The RV park has everything you need to have a relaxing getaway to spend some time in nature unplugged from your cell phone and internet.
6. Bridge Bay Campground
Bridge Bay Campground is a large campground with 400 regular RV sites. It can take a max length of 40 feet. This popular campground does not have hookups but does have flush toilets and faucets with cold running water.
This campground is inside the park, close to the south entrance.
7. Grant Village Campground
Grant Village Campground is another campground in Yellowstone that is close to the south entrance. This Yellowstone campground has a few more amenities as it has showers, toilets, and faucets with water.
The campground has good reviews. An important tip to know is that all Yellowstone campgrounds and RV parks sell firewood except Fishing Bridge RV Park. There’s nothing like playing camping games around a roaring fire and other outdoor family games around the site.
RV Parks Close to Yellowstone National Park – North Entrance
8. Mammoth Campground
This is a unique campground as it is the only campground in Yellowstone National Park that is open year-round. It is a great location to see wildlife, as elk and bison occasionally pass through the Mammoth Campground.
There are flush toilets and potable water. There is cell phone reception in this campground.
9. Yellowstone RV Park
The Yellowstone RV Park is a great RV park that is only one mile from the North entrance of Yellowstone National Park. It does not have many parks like it because it sits right along the Yellowstone River and can fit larger RVs, and the sites are around 35 feet wide, giving you lots of room and space.
There are public laundry facilities and showers on site. You will love falling asleep to the soothing Yellowstone River after your Yellowstone adventures and tours.
10. Sun Outdoors Yellowstone North
Sun Outdoors was previously known as Rocky Mountain RV Park and is a Yellowstone RV Park that is close to the North entrance. It is only a quarter-mile from the North entrance.
This RV park has the typical facilities to have a great vacation near Yellowstone National Park. There are many places to fish and hike. This is a great getaway for those looking for an RV park near Yellowstone National Park. It is a picturesque location to relax under your awning lights.
RV Parks Close to Yellowstone National Park – Northeast Entrance
The Northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park does not have a lot of options for RV parks with hookups. If you are staying close to the Northeast entrance, the below RV campgrounds are going to be your best option. They are great campgrounds, but they do not have hookups.
11. Canyon Campground
Canyon Campground is very similar to the other Yellowstone campgrounds inside Yellowstone National Park. It does not offer hookups, but it does have what you need to have a good RV camping vacation.
It has cold water, restrooms, laundry, pay showers, and ADA campsites. This is one of the most popular campgrounds in Yellowstone, as it is only one mile from the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and is very centrally located inside the park.
If you want a great centrally located campground, this is the best campground for your Yellowstone National Park adventures.
12. Pebble Creek Campground
If you are looking for a more isolated Yellowstone experience, Pebble Creek Campground is your best campground. It is near the northeast entrance, which is not as heavily used as other entrances to the park. There are only 27 sites available, and there are day hiking trails nearby.
There is no phone service in this location, but they do offer vault toilets and seasonal potable water. This is a great location if you a looking to have a bit more seclusion from some of the other park visitors.
RV Parks Close to Yellowstone Park – West Entrance
13. Madison Campground
Madison Campground is great if you want to camp close to Old Faithful and the Madison River. It is a common camp location for fishing enthusiasts since it is known for its wonderful fishing and convenient location.
This campground has pay showers, dishwashing stations, cold water, and clean restrooms. Most campgrounds in Yellowstone do not support travel trailers or motorhomes that or over 40 feet long. If your big rig is close to 40 feet, you will need to stay at one of our recommended RV parks close to Yellowstone National Park.
14. Buffalo Crossing RV Park
If you are looking for an ultimate RV experience in West Yellowstone, the Buffalo Crossing RV Park is the best you will find. It is one of the newest RV parks in West Yellowstone, and it is also the closest RV Park to the Yellowstone West Entrance. This is one of the best RV parks close to Yellowstone National Park, with full hookups.
The RV park is conveniently located next to lots of West Yellowstone shopping and dining. They offer great amenities like a large convenience store and a Giant Screen Theatre.
They are also close to the Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center. If you have not been, this is one of the best things to do in West Yellowstone. They have up-close exhibits of Grizzlies and wolves. It is a very fun experience, and we highly recommend it.
15. Wagon Wheel RV Park and Campground
The Wagon Wheel RV Park and Campground is a reasonable campground close to West Yellowstone and close to the West entrance. It is a no-frills location and is typically a little more economical than some of your other full hookup options.
They have hot showers and are close enough to walk to the shops in West Yellowstone. They have pull-through and back-in sites available for your large campers, and free Wi-Fi is provided. This is a close campground near Yellowstone National Park.
We love having hookups when we camp near Yellowstone. We will start a camping crockpot meal before we go out exploring for the day and then come home to a warm meal ready to eat.
16. Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park and Cabins
This Yellowstone RV Park is close to many of the fun things to do in West Yellowstone. It is close to the IMAX theatre, Grizzly and Wolf Discovery Center, shopping, dining, and many other attractions.
They offer campsites, cabins, and RV parking. If you want to try a cabin in West Yellowstone that is close to shops, this would be a great option. This RV park is similar to the Buffalo Crossing RV park, and they are in close proximity to each other.
17. Fox Den RV and Campground
Fox Den RV and Campground is a fantastic place to stay. They offer some really great options like Dog boarding, a dog park, and kennels. Yellowstone National Park is not super pet-friendly. You can have a dog, but there are many trails where dogs are not allowed. Being able to board your dog at the RV park is a huge bonus.
They offer cabins and glamping tents, which are an amazing experience and very enjoyable. Fox Den RV also offers loads of rental options, such as electric scooters and E-bikes you can take around town. They also have kayak and bear spray rentals.
The campground offers 24/7 laundry facilities along with showers, bathrooms, and water. This family-owned RV park is also very close to the west entrance and within walking distance of many of the amenities West Yellowstone has to offer.
Can You Drive an RV around Yellowstone National Park?
You can drive an RV around Yellowstone National Park. Many of the parking lots have bus parking. You will often see tour buses in and around Yellowstone National Park. Do keep in mind that the majority of the campsites inside the park have a 40-foot limit, and there are limited spots available.
How Much Does it Cost to Park an RV at Yellowstone?
Parking in Yellowstone National Park is free; however, you do have to pay to enter the park. If you have America the Beautiful Park Pass, your entrance to the park is free. If you do not have the pass, it is $35 for a 7-day pass.
Does Yellowstone Have Full Hookups?
There is only one RV park inside Yellowstone National Park that has full hookups. That campground is Fishing Bridge RV Park. If you are okay staying close to one of the entrances of Yellowstone National Park, there are many RV parks close to the Park with full hookups.
What Size RV is Allowed in Yellowstone?
If you are RV camping in Yellowstone National Park, you will be limited to 40 feet in length unless you are staying at Fishing Bridge RV Park. If you have a longer rig than that, there are RV park options outside of the park that can accommodate you.
You can drive through the park if you are longer than 40 feet, but you will not be able to find a site that will fit you.
