There is no lodging available on Caladesi Island, so you would need to stay in nearby Dunedin or Clearwater.

However, keep in mind that if you are looking for beautiful and wide sandy beaches, the Florida Keys may not be the best destination for you. The Florida Keys beaches have a coral base rather than a sand base. While the beaches there are beautiful, they are not the best for building sand castles and playing in the soft sand.
